Photolithography, also called optical lithography or UV lithography is used in microfabrication to transfer a customized pattern from photomask onto a substrate through the selective exposure of a light sensitive polymer. It can precisely control the shape and size of the objects it creates and can create patterns over an entire surface cost-effectively.Normally the features is of micro range, and applied to glasses, quartz, silicon etc.
CNC is a traditional machining service, which employs computerized controls and machine tools to remove layers of material from a workpiece and produces a customized part. This process is suitable for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, wood, glass, and composites.
Wire electrical discharge machining is a high-precision method for cutting nearly all electrically conductive materials. A thin, electrically-charged EDM wire held between upper and lower mechanical guides forms one electrode, while the material being cut forms the second electrode. Electrical discharge between the wire and the workpiece creates sparks that rapidly cut away material. Submerging the workpiece and wire in deionized water, allows cutting debris to be flushed away. As the charged wire never makes physical contact with the workpiece in EDM machining, there are no cutting forces produced so it can manufacture extremely small and delicate parts that require accuracy and intricacy that traditional machining cannot achieve.
